YPSILANTI, Mich. — C.J. Ogbonna showcased his prowess in the air during a thrilling matchup, throwing for 260 yards and three touchdowns as Buffalo triumphed over Eastern Michigan with a score of 37-20 on Wednesday night. The clash was characterized by significant plays from both teams, adding to the excitement of the game.

Eastern Michigan managed to close the gap to 23-20 with just under nine minutes remaining in the game, as Cole Snyder connected with Markus Allen for a stunning 78-yard touchdown. This quick action was part of a rapid two-play, 90-yard sequence that took only 33 seconds.

Responding to the challenge, Buffalo struck back immediately. Following a touchback on the kickoff, Ogbonna launched a remarkable 75-yard touchdown pass to Al-Jay Henderson, reinstating a 30-20 lead for the Bulls.

Both teams struggled to maintain momentum as they failed to convert on downs in their next opportunities. However, the game’s momentum shifted decisively when Buffalo’s Shaun Dolac intercepted a pass from Jeremiah Salem and sprinted 60 yards to the end zone. This touchdown increased Buffalo’s lead to 37-20 with just under three minutes left to play. Dolac, having already made a significant impact earlier, registered his second interception of the match. The linebacker also had a standout defensive performance, recording nine tackles, which makes him the leading tackler in the nation this season with a total of 146.

Buffalo (7-4, 5-2 Mid-American Conference) established an early commanding position, racing out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter. Ogbonna’s connection with JJ Jenkins for a long touchdown followed by a successful two-point conversion gave Buffalo an early edge of 8-0. A safety contributed by Dion Crawford, who sacked Snyder in the end zone, widened the gap to 10 points. Leading up to halftime, Ogbonna threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Viktor Snow, further solidifying Buffalo’s advantage.

The Eagles (5-6, 2-5) had Snyder passing for 351 yards, complemented by three touchdowns, although he did throw two interceptions. Markus Allen had a standout performance, accumulating 187 receiving yards from nine catches. Meanwhile, Terry Lockett Jr. made notable contributions with touchdown receptions of 38 and 13 yards during the third quarter, totaling 122 yards from eight receptions.
