Washington — Georgetown University showcased a dominant performance on Wednesday night, securing a convincing 79-51 win against Mount St. Mary’s.

Jayden Epps was a standout player for the Hoyas, scoring 19 points by hitting 6 of 14 shots from the field, including three baskets from the three-point range, and going perfect from the free-throw line with four successful attempts. His efforts were complemented by Thomas Sorber, who contributed 14 points along with a remarkable 12 rebounds and five assists. Micah Peavy added to the scoring with 12 points, shooting 4 for 6 overall and connecting on two of his four attempts from long distance.

On the other side, Terrell Ard Jr. led the Mountaineers with 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. His teammate, Dola Adebayo, provided additional support with 10 points and six rebounds, while Dallas Hobbs also emerged with a solid performance, contributing eight points along with seven rebounds.

The Hoyas seized control of the game early, taking the lead just 44 seconds into the first half and maintaining it throughout. They ended the first half with a 35-22 advantage, largely due to Epps’ 11 points. In the second half, Georgetown further extended their lead with a strong 13-3 run, escalating their margin from 20 to 30 points. The Hoyas outscored their opponents by 15 in the second half, with Drew Fielder leading the team in second-half scoring with nine points.

This victory marks an important step for the Hoyas as they look to build momentum in the season ahead.
