BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In an impressive display of skill, Keith Higgins Jr. led the way for Lehigh with 20 points in a dominant 100-53 triumph over Valley Forge on Wednesday evening.
Higgins also contributed eight rebounds to help the Mountain Hawks (1-4) secure their first win of the season. Ben Knostman made an impactful appearance, scoring 13 points with a perfect shooting performance—going 5 for 5 overall, including a flawless 3 for 3 from three-point range. Jake Pike was notable as well, finishing with 13 points after shooting 5 of 6 from the field.
Valley Forge’s efforts were spearheaded by Michael Gaines, who scored 13 points. Isaiah Reece also matched that total, adding two steals to his performance. Zavien Dillingham contributed nine points alongside two steals, rounding out the scoring for the Patriots.
Lehigh took command early in the game, seizing the lead just 1:07 into the first half and maintaining it throughout. By halftime, the score was heavily in favor of Lehigh at 50-29, largely due to Higgins’ impressive 16-point performance during the first half. The second half saw Lehigh further widen its advantage, peaking with a remarkable 19-2 scoring run that elevated the score to 87-46. Pike topped the second half’s scoring with another 13 points as Lehigh confidently sealed the victory.
