THIBODAUX, La. — In a competitive match on Wednesday evening, Dylan Williamson’s impressive performance, scoring 26 points, propelled Towson to a 70-64 victory over Nicholls State.
Williamson was highly efficient, hitting 9 of 12 attempts from the field and making 5 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. He also converted 3 of 4 free throws. Teammate Nendah Tarke contributed significantly with 19 points, making 5 of 14 attempts overall, along with 2 of 7 from three-point territory, and a strong 7 of 9 from the free-throw line, while securing five rebounds. Tomiwa Sulaiman added eight points, shooting 2 for 8, including 2 for 6 from long range.
On the other side, the Colonels were led by Byron Ireland, who put up an impressive 24 points. Jamal West chipped in with nine points and recorded two blocks, while Trae English also scored nine points and made two steals for Nicholls State.
In the first half, Williamson was pivotal for Towson, scoring 13 points and helping the team to a narrow lead of 38-35 at halftime. The Tigers increased their advantage in the second half with a crucial 8-0 run, allowing them to extend their lead to 10 points at 46-36, with just under 15 minutes remaining in the game, ultimately securing the win as they maintained control until the final buzzer.
