CINCINNATI — On Wednesday night, the Xavier Musketeers secured a commanding 80-55 victory against the Siena Saints, thanks in part to Ryan Conwell’s impressive performance, scoring 16 points.
Conwell showcased his shooting skills by making 6 of his 9 attempts from the field, including an impressive 4 out of 5 from three-point range.
Also contributing significantly were Trey Green and Marcus Foster; Green secured 14 points with a shooting line of 5 for 8, hitting 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, while Foster added 12 points, completing 5 of 7 attempts from the floor.
For the Saints, who now hold a record of 3-2, the leading scorer was Reid Ducharme, who tallied 15 points.
Major Freeman also played a key role for Siena, finishing with 12 points.
In the first half, Xavier took charge early, with Green leading the way by scoring 9 points. By halftime, they had established a solid lead at 44-28.
The Musketeers further increased their advantage with an 8-0 run in the second half, transforming an 18-point lead into an impressive 26-point margin.
Conwell maintained his momentum in the second half, contributing a team-high of 10 points in that period to help seal the victory.
