WORCESTER, Mass. — In an impressive display of offense, Aidan Richard contributed significantly to Holy Cross’s dominant victory over Mitchell, finishing with 18 points as the Crusaders triumphed 88-49 on Wednesday night.
Richard also secured five rebounds for the team, helping the Crusaders improve to a 4-2 record. Caleb Kenney was another key player, making an excellent shooting performance with 8 of 9 from the field and totaling 16 points. Max Green added to the scoring effort, going 6 for 12 from the field, though he struggled from beyond the arc, missing all four of his attempts from three-point range. He did manage to make 2 out of 3 free-throw attempts, rounding out the game with 14 points.
For the Mariners, Eddie Volkerts was the standout performer, leading his team with 14 points and two steals. Collin Jefferson also contributed to Mitchell’s efforts, adding 11 points to his team total.
In the first half, Richard was the catalyst for Holy Cross, amassing 15 points and helping establish a substantial lead as the Crusaders went into halftime ahead 55-26. After the break, Holy Cross maintained momentum by executing a 7-0 run, escalating their lead from 24 points to a commanding 31. In the second half, Green emerged as a pivotal scorer, leading his team with eight points during that period.
