No. 2 Ohio State’s center Seth McLaughlin sidelined with Achilles tendon injury

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will be without starting center Seth McLaughlin due to an Achilles tendon injury during an important game this Saturday against the highly ranked No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers.

Coach Ryan Day confirmed that McLaughlin sustained the injury during practice on Tuesday.

As a key player in the Buckeyes’ offensive line, McLaughlin’s absence will be felt, especially considering the line has already faced multiple injuries among its members.

Earlier in the season, left tackle Josh Simmons was sidelined for the remainder of the year after suffering a knee injury against Oregon. Zen Michalski stepped in to fill that spot but was also injured during the game against Nebraska.

In response to these challenges, the coaching staff has been forced to make several adjustments. Donovan Jackson, originally playing at left guard, has been shifted to tackle, and Carson Hinzman has taken over as the new guard. Moving forward, Hinzman will transition to center as Austin Siereveld steps into the left guard position.

The Buckeyes face significant pressure during this key matchup, and these changes in the lineup will be closely watched as the team aims to maintain its momentum.
