BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State showcased a strong performance on Tuesday evening, securing a 65-53 victory over Queens, largely thanks to the efforts of CJ Huntley, who scored 27 points for the Mountaineers.
In addition to his scoring, Huntley contributed significantly on the boards, grabbing eight rebounds. Myles Tate also made a notable impact, netting 19 points with an efficient shooting performance, converting 5 of 9 shots, including 2 of 4 from long distance. He excelled at the charity stripe as well, hitting 7 of 10 free-throw attempts while equaling Huntley’s eight rebounds and adding three steals to his stat line.
For the Royals, Asjon Anderson was a key player, scoring 13 points and recording two steals, though the team fell to a record of 2-3 for the season.
