The national player of the week for women’s basketball, as designated for Week 2 of the season, is Sedona Prince from TCU.
She played a pivotal role in helping TCU achieve its first victory over a ranked opponent in the last three years, scoring an impressive 31 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in the game against then-No. 13 N.C. State on Sunday.
This performance marked the highest single-game totals in both points and rebounds by any player facing a Top 25 team in the ongoing season.
Overall, she averaged 21.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and four blocks across two wins, while demonstrating remarkable shooting accuracy at 59.4% from the field.

In the runner-up position is Paige Bueckers from UConn.
She led her team to a solid 69-58 win against No. 14 North Carolina, contributing 29 points, with 16 of those points scored in just the first quarter.
Bueckers showcased her shooting prowess, going 4-for-8 from beyond the arc, and also contributed with four assists and two steals during the game.
For the week, she averaged 25.5 points and displayed impressive efficiency with a shooting percentage of 67.7% across two victories for No. 2 ranked Huskies.

These include Talaysia Cooper from Tennessee, Hannah Hidalgo from Notre Dame, and Harmoni Turner from Harvard.

Looking ahead, keep an eye on UTSA forward Jordyn Jenkins, who has had a remarkable start to the season, averaging 28.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while shooting 70.4% from the field.
In victories against New Mexico State and UTEP, Jenkins has recorded a double-double in three of her team’s first four games, and she currently holds an average of 23.5 points for the season.
