FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Adou Thiero delivered an impressive performance with 23 points as the No. 20 Arkansas Razorbacks secured a commanding 91-72 win over the Pacific Tigers on Monday night.
Thiero was efficient on the court, hitting 8 of 10 shots, contributing to Arkansas’s remarkable team shooting percentage of 60%. Alongside Thiero, Boogie Fland added 20 points, while Zvonimir Ivisic contributed 15. DJ Wagner rounded out the scoring with 14 points and provided five assists.
Initially, Pacific (3-3) kept the game competitive, narrowing the gap to just two points with under 12 minutes to play. However, the Tigers then struggled offensively, failing to score a field goal for more than eight minutes. This lapse allowed Arkansas (3-1) to extend their lead steadily.
Key insights from the game highlighted that although the Tigers displayed one of their stronger performances this season, they are now on a three-game losing streak. Elijah Fisher matched Thiero’s effort by scoring 23 points for Pacific.
For Arkansas, the newly assembled team under coach John Calipari is developing a cohesive offensive strategy, particularly noteworthy as there is only one returning scholarship player from last season.
Statistics indicated that Arkansas excelled beyond the arc with a 43% success rate on 3-pointers (9 out of 21). The Razorbacks also converted 80% (20 out of 25) of their free throws. On the other hand, Pacific faced difficulties in the latter half, managing to make only 32% of their shots after enjoying nearly 50% accuracy in the first half.
Looking ahead, Pacific will face another Southeastern Conference opponent when they visit Missouri on Friday.
Meanwhile, Arkansas will take on in-state rival Little Rock at home that same day.
