The United States men’s national soccer team experienced a mixed year, ending with a record of six wins, six losses, and two ties across various competitions.

In a challenging stretch, the team faced Slovenia on January 20, where they fell short, ending the match with a score of 1-0. Their fortunes improved on March 21 during an extended time match against Jamaica, which they won 3-1.

Shortly thereafter, on March 24, the United States continued their winning ways, defeating Mexico with a solid score of 2-0. However, the team faced their harshest loss of the year on June 8, where they were overwhelmed by Colombia, who scored five goals while the U.S. managed only one.

As the summer progressed, the United States saw some ups and downs. They played to a draw against Brazil on June 12, finishing the match with a score of 1-1. Later, on June 23, they secured a 2-0 victory against Bolivia. Yet, just a few days later on June 27, they suffered a defeat against Panama, who edged them out 2-1.

The team continued to struggle with losses, including a close match against Uruguay on July 1, where they were narrowly defeated 1-0. In the fall, the trend of mixed results continued; on September 7, Canada triumphed over the United States 2-1, though they managed to salvage a 1-1 draw against New Zealand just days later on September 10.

The team showed resilience in October, bouncing back with a 2-0 victory against Panama on October 12, but were again defeated, this time by Mexico, with a final score of 2-0 on October 15. As the year approached its end, the U.S. played two matches against Jamaica in November, managing a narrow 1-0 win on November 14, followed by a more decisive 4-2 victory on November 18.

Throughout the year, the United States participated in key tournaments, including the CONCACAF Nations League and Copa América, significantly impacting their performance and record.
