In a competitive match held on Monday night, the No. 15 ranked Kentucky Wildcats secured a 79-67 victory over Purdue Fort Wayne, with standout performances from Georgia Amoore and Dazia Lawrence. Amoore led the charge for the Wildcats, contributing 23 points and seven assists, while Lawrence added 21 points, with both players hitting a total of nine shots from beyond the arc.

Lawrence showcased her shooting skills by making 8 of 15 attempts, including 5 of 8 from three-point range. Amoore had a solid game as well, connecting on 7 of 18 total shots and going 4 of 9 from the three-point line, along with converting 5 of her 6 free throw opportunities. The Wildcats improved their record to 5-0, overcoming a challenging game where they trailed for over 28 minutes.

Purdue Fort Wayne started strong, with Lauren Ross netting multiple 3-pointers early on and finishing the first quarter with 21 points, 14 of which came in that opening period. The Mastodons held a lead of 23-19 and went into halftime ahead 38-33, reflecting their consistent performance and resilience.

In the second half, Kentucky faced a nine-point deficit but mounted a comeback with consecutive three-pointers from Lawrence and Amoore, tying the game at 46 with just over four minutes left in the third. Clara Strack helped Kentucky gain their first lead at 52-51 with two successful free throws, and the Wildcats led by one point heading into the final quarter.

The final quarter picked up momentum when Ross drilled a three-pointer, giving Purdue Fort Wayne a brief lead again. However, Kentucky quickly responded with consecutive baskets from Strack and Teonni Key. Lawrence then capitalized on a turnover to sink another three, pushing Kentucky ahead to 62-57 early in the fourth. An 11-0 scoring run, capped off by two free throws and a jumper from Amoore, further extended their advantage to nine points, which they maintained throughout the remainder of the game.

Alongside the stars of the game, Strack contributed significantly with 14 points despite some struggle from the floor, hitting 8 of 9 from the free-throw line. Teonni Key also made her presence felt with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. For the Mastodons, Freeman finished strong with 18 points and five assists, while Morgan added 11 points.

Kentucky will have a break until November 26, when they are scheduled to face Arizona State during the Music City Classic.
