In a thrilling overtime match on Sunday, the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors triumphed over the Weber State Wildcats with a score of 73-68. Tanner Christensen was a standout player, contributing 25 points to his team’s victory. His performance included a remarkable 10-of-11 shooting from the field, along with 5-of-9 from the free-throw line. This win marked a strong start for Hawaii, advancing their record to 4-0 for the season.
Along with Christensen, Harry Rouhliadeff played a significant role in the game by adding 12 points, making 3-of-4 from the field and 5-of-8 at the charity stripe, in addition to grabbing five rebounds. Gytis Nemeiksa also had a solid performance, finishing the game with 10 points after shooting 4-of-8 from the field and adding 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, Blaise Threatt was the standout performer for Weber State, scoring 27 points while also collecting nine rebounds and making five steals. Miguel Tomley contributed with 12 points and two steals, while Nigel Burris chipped in with seven points and two blocks.
Regulation time reached a nail-biting climax when Christensen scored a layup in the final seconds, tying the game at 57. Threatt had a chance to seal the win for Weber State but missed a layup as time expired. In overtime, Ryan Rapp ignited Hawaii’s offense by making a layup just a minute into the extra period, leading to a 10-0 run that put the Rainbow Warriors ahead 68-60 with just 1:24 remaining to play.
