Beyoncé is set to grace your screen this Christmas, but only for those subscribed to Netflix and tuning into the Baltimore Ravens versus Houston Texans game.
The streaming platform revealed on Sunday that the global superstar will take center stage during the halftime show of this festive matchup, which takes place in Houston, her hometown.
While Netflix has not disclosed specific details regarding the performance, they hinted that it may include songs from her latest album “Cowboy Carter,” which garnered her an impressive 11 Grammy nominations just this month.
In addition to this game, Netflix will be streaming another NFL matchup on Christmas Day, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This opens up the exciting possibility of Taylor Swift, who has been frequently spotted at Chiefs games this season and is currently in a relationship with tight end Travis Kelce, appearing at the events as her Eras tour will conclude by that time.
These NFL games are part of Netflix’s recent ventures into live sports programming. This announcement follows a boxing event on the platform that showcased a match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, where Paul walked away victorious.
However, the boxing stream faced significant challenges with buffering and streaming issues, affecting a number of viewers; more than 85,000 logged complaints on a popular outage detection site.
It’s worth noting that Beyoncé has previously graced the Super Bowl stage twice, in 2013 and 2016, showcasing her remarkable talent at one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
