BOSTON — The Boston Celtics have announced their plans to carry out the long-standing tradition of visiting the White House on Thursday. During this visit, they will be greeted by President Joe Biden, just one day before they are scheduled to face off against the Washington Wizards.
The Celtics made history by securing their 18th NBA championship title in June after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in the Finals in a five-game series. This will be the team’s second and final trip to Washington D.C. for the regular season.
Their first visit as champions took place in 1963 during the presidency of John F. Kennedy, and their most recent trip was in 2008, when they met with former President George W. Bush.
