BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Don McHenry led the way for Western Kentucky on Sunday, contributing 21 points in their narrow 66-61 victory over Lipscomb.
McHenry finished the game shooting 9 of 19 from the field, including 3 for 8 from beyond the arc. His impressive performance played a crucial role in the Hilltoppers achieving their second win of the season, improving their record to 2-2. Babacar Faye was also impactful, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while Enoch Kalambay added 11 points, going 4 of 8 from the field and 2 for 3 from the free-throw line.
For the Bisons, who fell to 2-3, Jacob Ognacevic was the standout player with nine points and 11 rebounds. Teammate Joe Anderson also played well, contributing nine points and seven rebounds. Miles White rounded out the performance for Lipscomb with nine points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
In the first half, McHenry was instrumental, scoring 11 points to help Western Kentucky, though the team went into halftime trailing by a single point at 31-30. The turning point came in the second half when Western Kentucky put together an 8-0 run, allowing them to reclaim the lead at 55-48 with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
