LARAMIE, Wyo. — In an impressive performance, Kobe Newton scored 19 points, leading the Wyoming Cowboys to an 86-69 victory over the Utah Tech Trailblazers on Saturday evening.
Newton demonstrated his scoring abilities by connecting on 6 of his 12 attempts from the field, including 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, and he also capitalized by sinking 5 of 6 free-throw attempts. While the Cowboys improved their record to 3-1, Jordan Nesbitt also made a significant contribution with 12 points, hitting 3 of 8 shots and going 5 for 6 at the line. Additionally, he pulled down 12 rebounds. Obi Agbim matched Nesbitt’s scoring with another 12 points.
On the other side, the Trailblazers fell to 1-3 despite a solid effort from Tennessee Rainwater, who led his team with 16 points. Beon Riley added to the team’s tally with 14 points alongside two steals, while Noa Gonsalves contributed 13 points and also recorded two steals.
Wyoming managed to seize the lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half and maintained control for the remainder of the game, securing a decisive victory.
