HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Marshall University secured a comfortable victory over Bellarmine on Saturday night, finishing with a score of 83-62. Nate Martin delivered a stellar performance for the Thundering Herd, scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds, contributing significantly to their success, moving their record to 3-1 for the season.
Jalen Speer also had an impressive outing, netting 20 points with a shooting percentage of 53.8%, hitting 7 of his 13 attempts, including 5 of 11 from beyond the arc. Furthermore, Obinna Anochili-Killen made an impact with 15 points, showing efficiency from the field by making 5 of 8 shots and converting 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.
On the other hand, Jack Karasinski was the standout for Bellarmine, posting 20 points despite their struggle, leading the Knights to a record of 0-4. Additionally, Billy Smith contributed with 10 points and two steals, while Myles Watkins also added another 10 points to the total for the Knights.
