SAN ANTONIO — Ante Beljan played a key role in Little Rock’s success against UTSA on Saturday night, scoring 21 points to lead his team to an 81-64 victory.
Beljan also contributed five assists for the Trojans, who improved their record to 2-2. Mwani Wilkinson supported the win with a strong performance, totaling 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Isaiah Lewis also made a notable impact, finishing with 16 points, shooting 5 of 10 from the field and 2 for 3 from beyond the arc, while also converting 4 of 5 free throw attempts.
On the other side, Amir Spears led the Roadrunners with 15 points and five assists, while Marcus Millender added 12 points to the tally. Sky Wicks contributed significantly as well with 10 points, seven rebounds, and two steals for UTSA, which fell to 1-2 this season.
The turning point in the game came when Little Rock seized the lead with 5:28 remaining in the first half, establishing control and ending the half with a score of 36-26, highlighted by Lewis’ nine points. The Trojans surged ahead in the second half, launching a decisive 9-0 run that catapulted their lead from 10 to 19 points. In that final half, they outperformed UTSA by seven points, with Beljan leading the scoring effort by netting 14 points.
