ROCK HILL, S.C. — In a thrilling contest on Saturday night, the Georgia Southern Eagles narrowly defeated Winthrop, clinching the game with a score of 89-87.
Adante’ Holiman was a standout player for Georgia Southern, contributing significantly with 23 points. His performance included making five of his twelve shots from the floor, alongside hitting three of nine attempts from the three-point line, and a remarkable ten of eleven from the free-throw line. This victory improved the Eagles’ season record to 4-1.
Supporting Holiman, Nakavieon White added 15 points to the scoreboard while shooting six for eleven, and managed to grab six rebounds. Meanwhile, Dontae Horne also contributed with 11 points, though he faced some challenges, going three for ten from the field and effectively sinking four of six from the charity stripe.
On the opposing side, Winthrop’s Kasen Harrison led his team with a notable 24 points. KJ Doucet also made a significant impact, recording a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.
