MUNCIE, Ind. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday, Indiana State triumphed over Ball State with a score of 94-84, thanks in large part to the outstanding performance of Camp Wagner, who contributed 19 points to the Sycamores’ victory.
Wagner’s effort was complemented by Kmani Doughty, who tallied 17 points, showcasing incredible efficiency by making 4 of 5 field goals, which included hitting all three of his attempts from beyond the arc. Doughty also excelled at the free-throw line, sinking all six tries, while grabbing five rebounds. Jaden Daughtry added 16 points to the score, completing 7 of 14 shots and pulling down seven rebounds for the Sycamores, who improved to a 2-2 record this season.
On the opposing side, the Cardinals struggled but found some bright spots, led by Payton Sparks, who recorded 16 points, seven rebounds, and contributed two blocks. TJ Burch added 14 points to the tally, and Mickey Pearson Jr. helped with 12 points, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win as Ball State fell to a 1-3 record.
The first half saw Doughty score six points, but Indiana State entered halftime behind 39-36. The momentum shifted dramatically in the second half when Indiana State launched a formidable 12-1 run, allowing them to pull ahead 78-67 with only 3:32 to go in the game. Wagner’s contributions were significant in the latter half, as he netted 13 points to help seal the victory for the Sycamores.
