EVANSVILLE, Ind. — In an exciting matchup on Saturday, Jarvis Moss led the Radford Highlanders to a 92-81 victory over the Evansville Purple Aces, scoring an impressive 30 points. Moss not only excelled in scoring but also contributed defensively with three steals, helping his team improve their record to 3-1 for the season.
Brandon Maclin also made a significant impact for Radford with a solid performance, finishing the game with 21 points. He recorded 8 of 12 shooting from the field, including a long-range attempt which he made one out of four times. Maclin rounded out his all-around game with five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Additionally, Ibu Yamakazi contributed 10 points with an efficient 4 of 5 shooting on the night.
On the other side of the court, the Purple Aces were led by Cameron Haffner, who scored 23 points. Gabriel Pozzato added to the scoreboard with 20 points, while Joshua Hughes contributed 19 points along with two blocks, showing a well-rounded team effort despite the loss.
In the first half, Maclin got off to a strong start, scoring nine points, but Radford found themselves trailing by 18 at halftime with a score of 50-32. The second half saw Moss taking charge, as he scored 28 points, helping Radford close the gap and pull ahead for the final victory by 11 points.
Looking ahead, Radford will take on Southern Virginia in a home game on Monday, while Evansville is set to visit Ohio State on Tuesday in hopes of turning their season around.
