FARMVILLE, Va. — K.J. McClurg led the way with an impressive 25 points as Longwood edged out UT Martin with a close score of 64-62 in their recent matchup on Saturday.
McClurg showcased his shooting prowess, connecting on 7 of 14 attempts overall, including 5 out of 11 from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 6 for 6 from the charity stripe, contributing significantly to the Lancers’ (4-0) victory. In addition to McClurg’s standout performance, Jaylen Benard contributed eight points along with six rebounds, while Johan Nziemi also added eight points, hitting 3 of 6 from the floor and converting 2 of 4 free throws.
On the opposing side, Josue Grullon was the standout for the Skyhawks (2-2), finishing with 22 points and recording three steals. Vladimer Salaridze supported the effort with nine points, eight rebounds, and two steals, while teammate Tarence Guinyard matched Salaridze’s scoring with his own nine points and added two steals to the tally.
