Hurricanes await update on injured goalie Frederik Andersen

The Carolina Hurricanes are currently navigating a challenging situation with goaltender Frederik Andersen, who is contending with an undisclosed injury that may result in a lengthy absence from the lineup.
Coach Rod Brind’Amour mentioned during a recent update that surgery might be on the table, although they are hoping Andersen’s recovery timeline will be “week to week.” However, he cautioned that the situation could extend for a significantly longer duration.
It’s worth noting that this injury is unrelated to the blood clotting issue that limited Andersen’s play for much of last season.
As of now, Andersen has not seen any action since October 26th.
In addition, the Hurricanes are also missing goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov, who exited the game against Utah on Wednesday due to a minor injury.
To address the goaltending shortage, Carolina has called up Yaniv Perets, who filled the backup role for Spencer Martin during Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
Furthermore, the team has announced that forward Seth Jarvis has been placed on injured reserve, with the move backdated to the previous Sunday due to an upper-body injury. Jarvis made an impact early in the season with four goals and seven assists in just ten games.
The combination of these injuries presents a daunting challenge for the Hurricanes as they work to maintain their competitive edge in the league.
