JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — Tre Stewart shone brightly in Jacksonville State’s thrilling 34-31 victory over Florida International on Saturday, rushing for 136 yards and securing two touchdowns, including a pivotal 56-yard run in the fourth quarter.

The game-winning play came as Stewart powered through the middle, escaping a tackle before sprinting unchallenged into the end zone. This touchdown completed an impressive eight-play drive spanning 76 yards with 9:55 remaining on the clock. Florida International’s final opportunity ended in disappointment as they attempted a fourth-and-5 at their own 23-yard line, yielding an incomplete pass with just 1:56 left in the game. Earlier, Stewart had also contributed with a 3-yard rushing touchdown late in the second quarter.

Tyler Huff was instrumental for Jacksonville State (7-3, 6-0 Conference USA), contributing two touchdowns to the effort. He completed 15 of 28 passes for 211 yards and added 76 yards on the ground from 18 carries. Huff’s scoring plays included a 10-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter and a 56-yard touchdown pass to Sean Brown, which shifted the Gamecocks ahead 27-24 early in the fourth quarter.

On the other side, FIU’s Keyone Jenkins had a solid performance, throwing for 235 yards. He connected with Antonio Ferguson on a 39-yard touchdown pass that briefly put Florida International (3-7, 2-4) ahead 31-27 with 12:25 still to play. Earlier in the game, Jenkins also tallied a 5-yard touchdown pass to Eric Rivers during the third quarter. Moreover, Devonte Lyons added to FIU’s offensive statistics with 88 rushing yards on 12 carries, including an 11-yard touchdown run.
