WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — In an exciting game on Saturday, Carson Jenkins electrified the crowd by returning a punt for an impressive 90-yard touchdown, while Malachi Imoh added to the scoring with a 62-yard rushing touchdown, leading William & Mary to a 22-12 victory over Bryant.
The Tribe established an early advantage, quickly going up 8-0 thanks to Darius Wilson’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Akuchie, followed by a successful two-point conversion.
Jenkins’ dazzling punt return stretched the lead to 15-0, putting Bryant in a challenging position.
However, the Bulldogs fought back, as Jarrett Guest connected with his teammates for a touchdown, complemented by two field goals from Bryce Soli, narrowing the gap to 15-12 by the start of the fourth quarter.
In response to Bryant’s resurgence, Imoh delivered a critical 62-yard touchdown run, extending the Tribe’s lead to 22-12.
On the ground, Bronson Yoder led the Tribe with an impressive 146 rushing yards, with Imoh adding 98 yards, bringing William & Mary’s total rushing yards to 244. Wilson also contributed in the air, passing for 97 yards.
For the Bulldogs, Guest showcased his passing skills, accumulating 263 yards through the air, while Landon Ruggieri emerged as a key receiver, catching 9 passes for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the outcome, William & Mary (7-4, 4-3 in the Coastal Athletic Association) faced challenges, being outgained by 62 yards, recording 10 fewer first downs, and having one more turnover compared to Bryant (2-9, 0-7).
