SYDNEY — The Australian cricket team remained unchanged as they won the toss and opted to bat first in the second Twenty20 match against Pakistan on Saturday.

In the previous T20 encounter held in Brisbane, Glenn Maxwell showcased an impressive performance, scoring 43 runs off just 19 deliveries, which led Australia to a convincing 29-run victory in a rain-affected match that only lasted seven overs per side.

Sticking to the same lineup that dominated the opening game of the three-match series, Australia aims to maintain their momentum.

On the other hand, Pakistan made a strategic change by introducing 25-year-old left-arm wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, who replaced Haseebullah Khan in the squad. Muqeem made his T20 debut during the recent Asian Games held in Hangzhou, where he successfully claimed four wickets across three matches against teams from Hong Kong, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

Earlier, Pakistan had secured a 2-1 victory in the preceding ODI series against Australia, showcasing their competitive spirit.

The series will conclude with the third and final T20 match scheduled to take place in Hobart on Monday.
