— In a commanding performance on Friday night, PJ Haggerty helped lead the Memphis Tigers to a convincing 94-70 victory over the Ohio Bobcats. Haggerty was a standout player, contributing 23 points along with seven rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to a perfect 3-0 on the season.
Tyrese Hunter also had a noteworthy game, scoring 21 points with an impressive shooting performance, hitting 7 of 13 shots, including four out of five from beyond the arc, and converting all three of his free-throw attempts. Hunter further contributed five rebounds, six assists, and four steals to enhance his team’s efforts. Nick Jourdain added to the scoreboard with 15 points, shooting 5 of 6 from the field and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line, while also grabbing eight rebounds and securing three steals.
On the other end, Ajay Sheldon was the top scorer for the Bobcats, finishing with 20 points. Ohio’s AJ Brown also played well, contributing 19 points along with two steals. Elmore James added 11 points to the Bobcats’ total, but their efforts were not enough to keep pace with the Tigers.
Haggerty’s strong start in the first half was crucial, as he led his team with 17 points, helping Memphis to a narrow 43-38 lead at halftime. In the second half, Memphis pressed their advantage, extending their lead to 77-60, largely thanks to a decisive 13-3 scoring run. In this period, Hunter once again shone brightly, notching 16 points and further solidifying the Tigers’ dominance.
