FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Avery Morrow made an impactful start for Colorado State by scoring on an 11-yard rush during the first quarter. Wide receiver Dane Olson also contributed to the team’s success, successfully executing a trick play which allowed him to throw a touchdown pass to quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi. With this energetic opening, Colorado State achieved a 24-10 victory over Wyoming, maintaining their unbeaten status in the Mountain West Conference.
The Rams kicked off the game with a solid drive spanning 75 yards, culminating in Morrow’s touchdown that gave them an early 7-0 advantage. By the end of the first quarter, they had extended their lead to 14-0, thanks to a 6-yard touchdown combination between Olson and Fowler-Nicolosi, just seconds before the period concluded.
As the game continued, Wyoming managed to get on the board through John Hoyland, who successfully kicked a 49-yard field goal in the early part of the second quarter. In response, the Rams countered with a 33-yard field goal by Jordan Noyes, bringing the halftime score to 17-3 in favor of Colorado State.
In the third quarter, Fowler-Nicolosi and Tommy Maher teamed up to execute a 53-yard touchdown play, marking the Rams’ only score in the latter part of the game. The Cowboys fought back with Kaden Anderson managing a 1-yard touchdown run, which occurred with 8:42 remaining in the third quarter, but it would turn out to be the final score of the match.
Fowler-Nicolosi recorded a commendable performance, completing 14 of 17 pass attempts for a total of 192 yards. Justin Marshall contributed significantly on the ground with 104 rushing yards on 16 carries, while Morrow added 84 yards from 13 attempts. On the opposing side, Anderson ended the game with 120 passing yards, completing 13 out of 30 attempts for Wyoming.
