PHILADELPHIA — In an impressive display, Rasheer Fleming contributed significantly with 15 points, guiding Saint Joseph’s to an 86-69 victory over Pennsylvania on Friday night.

Fleming also recorded six rebounds for the Hawks (3-1), while Derek Simpson matched him with another 15 points, shooting 50% from the field including an impressive three-for-four from three-point range, accompanied by five rebounds. Erik Reynolds II rounded out the scoring efforts with 15 points as well, managing to secure four free throws while hitting five of his fifteen field goal attempts and just one out of five beyond the arc.

For Pennsylvania (2-2), Nick Spinoso was the standout player, leading the team with 14 points and snagging two steals. Sam Brown followed closely, adding 13 points to the Quakers’ total, and Dylan Williams contributed with ten points.

Fleming showcased his talent in the first half, scoring ten points to set the pace for his team, which found themselves ahead 46-33 at halftime. The Hawks continued to build on their momentum, surging to a commanding 72-40 lead in the second half, driven by an impressive 11-0 scoring run. Xzayvier Brown also made his mark in the second half, netting a team-high eight points.
