CHARLESTON, S.C. — In an exhilarating matchup on Friday night, Ante Brzovic shone with a remarkable performance, scoring 39 points and sinking a last-second 3-pointer during double overtime, leading the Charleston Cougars to a thrilling 119-116 victory against Florida Atlantic.
Brzovic also contributed significantly on the boards, pulling down 13 rebounds for the Cougars, who improved to a record of 3-0. Teammate Derrin Boyd added 18 points, displaying an effective shooting touch as he connected on 6 of 15 attempts, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc, while also contributing seven rebounds and six assists. Deywilk Tavarez was another key player for Charleston, scoring 17 points with a shooting stat line of 6 for 11 from the field and 4 of 5 from the charity stripe.
