Democratic Representative Jim Costa has secured his reelection for a U.S. House seat from California, marking another term in his long-standing political career.
Costa first entered the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005 after dedicating nearly 24 years to the state Legislature.
This election saw him face off against Republican challenger Michael Maher, who previously contested the seat in 2022.
Currently, Costa plays a role on the House Committee on Agriculture as well as on the Foreign Affairs Committee.
His district covers portions of the San Joaquin Valley, prominently featuring the majority of Fresno city.
The announcement of his victory was made at 9:14 p.m. EST, confirming his continued representation for the constituents in his district.
