ST. PAUL, Minn. — Mats Zuccarello, the right winger for the Minnesota Wild, underwent surgery for a lower-body injury and is expected to be out of action for approximately three to four weeks, as reported by head coach John Hynes.

During Minnesota’s recent victory over the Montreal Canadiens, where they won 3-0, a shot from teammate Brock Faber inadvertently hit Zuccarello below the waist in the first period.

Zuccarello currently ranks third on the team with 14 points, comprising six goals and eight assists. He has been playing on the top line alongside three-time All-Star Kirill Kaprizov and center Marco Rossi. Kaprizov himself is performing remarkably, sitting second in the NHL with 30 points. The Wild currently boasts a strong season record of 11 wins, 2 losses, and 3 overtime losses, placing them second in the Western Conference.
