ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — On Friday, head coach Sean McDermott announced that tight end Dalton Kincaid has been ruled out for the upcoming game against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs due to a knee injury.
Kincaid sustained the injury during last week’s 30-20 victory over the Indianapolis Colts and has not participated in practice this week. In his second season, Kincaid is currently the team’s second-leading receiver with 34 receptions and ranks third in receiving yards with 356, contributing two touchdowns to the offense.
Without Kincaid, the Bills’ passing game, orchestrated by quarterback Josh Allen, faces further challenges, especially with rookie receiver Keon Coleman also sidelined due to a right wrist injury, marking his second consecutive game missed.
However, there is a glimmer of hope for the receiving corps as Amari Cooper may return to action after sitting out two games because of a left wrist injury. Coach McDermott has classified Cooper as questionable for Sunday’s matchup.
Cooper has been seen wearing a brace to protect his wrist and mentioned on Thursday that he feels prepared to play. Since being traded from Cleveland last month, he has participated in just two games, recording five receptions for 69 yards and one touchdown.
Adding to the team’s injury report, starting right tackle Spencer Brown is also questionable due to an ankle injury.
As the Bills, currently leading the AFC East with an 8-2 record, prepare for their game against the Chiefs (9-0), they will have an opportunity to recuperate with a bye week looming afterwards.
