LAS CRUCES, N.M. — A standout performance by Dionte Bostick, who scored 13 points off the bench, was pivotal in securing an 83-82 victory for New Mexico State against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday evening.
The Aggies maintained a lead throughout the game, at one point establishing a significant 21-point advantage in the second half. However, Texas A&M-CC mounted a strong comeback, narrowing the margin to just one point, but New Mexico State managed to hold on for the win.
Bostick demonstrated efficiency as he shot 4 for 7 from the field and went 5 of 7 from the free-throw line. In addition to Bostick’s contribution, Christian Cook added 12 points to the Aggies’ effort, converting 4 of 15 attempts including 3 out of 9 from three-point range. Zawdie Jackson also made a meaningful impact, finishing the game with 11 points, shooting 3 for 9 and a perfect 4 for 4 from the charity stripe.
Meanwhile, Isaac Williams led the scoring for the Islanders with an impressive 21 points while also dishing out nine assists and grabbing two steals. Jaden Walker contributed with 14 points and six rebounds, while Garry Clark added another 13 to the total for Texas A&M-CC.
