San Francisco faced off against Long Beach State on Wednesday, securing a convincing victory with a score of 84-54.
Malik Thomas was a standout player, contributing 15 points for the Dons, making 5 of his 7 shots overall and sinking all 4 of his free throws.
Tyrone Riley IV also made his mark, scoring 14 points with a perfect shooting performance of 5 for 5, along with making 2 of his 4 attempts from the foul line.
Another key contributor was Jason Rivera-Torres, who added 12 points on 5 of 6 shooting from the floor.
For Long Beach State, Devin Askew led his team’s scoring with 12 points and also recorded two steals.
His teammate TJ Wainwright helped by scoring 11 points and adding two steals of his own, while Cam Denson chipped in with nine points.
The game saw San Francisco take an early lead, with the Dons going ahead 36-24 by halftime after developing a lead 18 minutes into the first period, largely thanks to Thomas’s seven points in the opening half.
In the second half, the Dons continued to dominate, extending their lead to 65-38, aided by a robust 9-0 run.
Riley led the scoring for San Francisco in the second half, racking up 12 points.
