PROVO, Utah — Dawson Baker showcased an impressive performance by sinking six 3-pointers and tallying 22 points as BYU cruised past Queens 99-55 on Wednesday night.

BYU (3-0) dominated from the start, racing out to a remarkable 28-2 lead and holding a substantial 51-26 advantage at halftime. Trevin Knell contributed significantly with 14 points in the first half, while Egor Demin added nine. The Cougars exhibited high efficiency, shooting 64.5% (20 of 31) from the field and draining seven 3-pointers before the halftime break.

In the second half, Baker continued his hot streak, hitting consecutive 3-pointers that pushed the Cougars’ lead to 91-48 with just over six minutes remaining in the game.

Queens faced a challenging back-to-back night after losing to Utah 96-65 earlier. They became the second team since the 1998-99 season to play both the Utes and BYU in consecutive nights, with Coppin State previously accomplishing this during the 2016-17 season.

Baker finished the game shooting 8 of 10 from the field and an impressive 6 of 7 from beyond the arc. Keba Keita contributed with an outstanding double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, marking his second consecutive double-double and the fifth of his collegiate career. Knell concluded with 16 points, while Demin netted 14.

On the other side, Maban Jabriel and Jaxon Pollard led Queens (2-2), with each scoring nine points.

With this victory, BYU has extended its non-conference home winning streak to 17 games. Kevin Young is also notable for being the sixth head coach in BYU history to secure victory in his first three games. Remarkably, the Cougars have not trailed in any game thus far this season.
