LOS ANGELES — On Wednesday night, Marcus Smart made his much-anticipated return to the Memphis Grizzlies after being sidelined for six games due to a right ankle sprain.

Although Smart did not begin the game against the Los Angeles Lakers as a starter, he entered the game partway through the first quarter, much to the excitement of fans and teammates alike.

The 6-foot-3 guard, now in his tenth NBA season, had averaged 5.6 points per game in the first five games of the season before his injury, which occurred during the opening quarter of a 119-106 defeat against the Brooklyn Nets on October 30.

Last season was particularly challenging for Smart, as he managed to compete in only 20 games. His time on the court was limited due to a sprained left foot and a finger injury.

His return will undoubtedly be a boost for the Grizzlies as they aim to improve their performance moving forward. Fans are hopeful that he will regain his form quickly and contribute significantly to the team’s success.
