LOS ANGELES — On Wednesday, Diamond Sports Group revealed that it has secured a multi-year deal with Prime Video to offer its 16 regional sports network channels as an add-on subscription service.

The FanDuel Sports Network’s regional sports networks (RSNs) will be accessible to customers in the specific geographic regions of the associated teams. These 16 networks will serve fans across 31 states.

David Preschlack, the CEO of Diamond, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Teaming up with Prime Video, a leading streaming platform in the U.S., and including the FanDuel Sports Network in their add-on offerings presents a significant opportunity for us to broaden our audience and foster better connections with viewers.” He added that the collaboration with Prime Video and FanDuel, alongside existing partnerships with teams, leagues, and distributors, supports a major restructuring of their business model, aiming for superior linear and digital services that will provide lasting value and improved experiences for fans and partners alike.

Earlier in the year, Prime Video announced its intention to acquire a minority stake in Diamond Sports Group.

A critical hearing concerning Diamond’s bankruptcy reorganization plan is set to take place on Thursday. The company has been undergoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the Southern District of Texas after filing for protection in March 2023. Reports indicate that Diamond had accumulated a substantial debt of $8.67 billion.

Additionally, Diamond announced that it will introduce single-game pricing for NBA and NHL games starting December 5.

Fans will have the choice to purchase single games for $6.99, alongside options for monthly subscriptions or season passes.

The company holds broadcasting rights for 13 NBA teams and eight NHL teams. Furthermore, they have reached agreements with five Major League Baseball teams for the 2025 season, with ongoing negotiations with three additional teams.

Last week, both Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves submitted their objections to the reorganization plan, which adds another layer of complexity to Diamond’s path forward.
