Cedar City, Utah — In an impressive display of basketball prowess, Southern Utah triumphed over Bethesda (CA) with a decisive score of 107-54 on Tuesday evening.
Xavier Sykes was a standout player for the Thunderbirds, contributing 12 points to the team’s commanding victory. Performing effectively, Sykes made 3 out of 6 attempts from the field and executed an impressive 5 out of 6 from the free-throw line. With this win, the Thunderbirds improved their season record to 3-0.
Hercy Miller also made notable contributions, finishing the game with 11 points. He had a shooting percentage of 50% from the floor, completing 3 of 6 shots. Miller also managed to hit 1 out of 3 from beyond the arc and recorded four successful free throws out of seven attempts.
Duncan Reid added to the scoring with 10 points, even though he faced a challenging night, shooting 3 of 11 overall. However, his performance from three-point territory was effective, as he scored 3 out of 7 attempts from that range.
For Bethesda, Edward Spencer was the leading scorer, finishing the game with eight points. Despite the loss, the Flames fought hard throughout the match but could not keep up with Southern Utah’s offensive onslaught.
