NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — In a competitive matchup on Tuesday evening, the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens triumphed over the Iona Gaels with a final score of 64-58. Both Niels Lane and Tahron Allen played pivotal roles in securing the victory, each contributing 14 points to their team’s total.
Lane’s performance was well-rounded, as he also recorded six rebounds and four steals during the game. Meanwhile, Allen showcased his shooting skills, successfully making six of eleven attempts from the field.
On the opposing side, Yaphet Moundi had an impressive game for Iona, scoring 16 points and grabbing an astounding 18 rebounds. Moundi also added three steals and three blocks to his stats. Dejour Reaves was another key player for the Gaels, matching Moundi’s scoring with 16 points and grabbing two steals.
During the first half, Allen was a standout for Delaware, putting up 11 points and helping the team establish a solid lead, ending the half at 30-18. Lane contributed significantly in the second half, scoring eight of his points and solidifying the Blue Hens’ advantage.
With this win, Delaware improved their season record to 2-1, while Iona continues to search for their first win of the season, dropping to 0-3.
