TERRE HAUTE, Ind.
Ray’Sean Taylor delivered an impressive performance, contributing 22 points to lead SIU-Edwardsville to a 77-72 victory over Indiana State during their matchup on Tuesday night.
In addition to his scoring efforts, Taylor also facilitated six assists for the Cougars, who now hold a 2-2 record for the season. Teammate Ring Malith was a key contributor as well, scoring 19 points on an efficient 8-for-15 shooting, including hitting 2-of-7 from three-point range, while also grabbing five rebounds and making three steals.
On the Sycamores’ side, Jahni Summers topped the scoring chart with 15 points. Camp Wagner pitched in with 12 points, and Aaron Gray made a solid impact with nine points, ten rebounds, and three steals.
Desmond Polk was also notable for the Cougars, scoring seven points in the first half. By halftime, SIU-Edwardsville found themselves slightly behind, with a score of 36-33. However, Taylor’s strong second-half performance, where he added 16 points to his tally, helped turn the game in favor of the Cougars.
