SALT LAKE CITY — Center Jusuf Nurkic of the Phoenix Suns has been declared inactive for the upcoming game against the Utah Jazz due to discomfort in his left ankle.
Nurkic had been a consistent presence for the Suns, starting in all of the team’s first ten matchups and contributing an average of 9.9 points and 10.2 rebounds over 24.4 minutes of play. His recent performance against Sacramento, however, was cut short, as he played only 15 minutes, ended the game without scoring any points, and secured seven rebounds before leaving the court due to his ongoing ankle issue.
In addition to Nurkic’s absence, the Suns are also navigating the loss of star player Kevin Durant, who is sidelined with a left calf strain sustained during a victory against Dallas on November 8. Durant is anticipated to be out for a minimum of two weeks as he recovers.
With both Nurkic and Durant unavailable, Ryan Dunn has stepped into the starting lineup to fill Durant’s role, while Mason Plumlee has been given the nod to start in place of Nurkic.
