BOSTON — Boston College is set to switch their starting quarterback as Coach Bill O’Brien announced that Grayson James will take the helm against No. 14 SMU this Saturday, replacing Thomas Castellanos.
James, who transferred from Florida International University (FIU) this year, has participated in two games with the Eagles (5-4, 2-3 in the Atlantic Coast Conference), notably guiding the team to a comeback victory over Western Kentucky following an injury to Castellanos.
In addition, James stepped in for Castellanos during the third quarter of last week’s matchup against Syracuse, where he impressively completed 5 of 6 passes for 51 yards and threw for a touchdown, contributing to the Eagles’ 37-31 win.
The decision to switch quarterbacks comes as Boston College looks to maintain momentum in their season, and fans are eager to see how Grayson James performs in this key game against a ranked opponent.
