Scott Cummings of Scotland banned for one match due to crocodile roll incident

DUBLIN – Scotland lock Scott Cummings has received a one-match suspension following his illegal tackle known as a crocodile roll on South Africa’s Franco Mostert during a recent match in Edinburgh.

Cummings will be sidelined for Scotland’s upcoming game against Portugal at Murrayfield this Saturday.

A disciplinary panel reviewed Cummings’ actions from last Sunday’s autumn international, where he initially received a yellow card that was later elevated to a red card following a review by the bunker officials.

The panel deemed the maneuver reckless, starting with a baseline two-week suspension. However, they chose to reduce it by one week due to Cummings’ previously clean disciplinary history, good conduct, and displays of remorse following the incident.

It’s worth noting that Scotland faced defeat against the Springboks, finishing the match with a score of 32-15.
