A man aged 34 has been arrested in connection to a shooting incident that occurred during a party in Laurel, Mississippi, over the weekend after he was refused entry. The incident took place shortly after midnight on Sunday at the Cameron Center, as reported by local authorities.

Daniel Gomez is accused of opening fire on attendees after being barred from entering the event, leading to five individuals sustaining injuries. He faces multiple charges, including five counts of aggravated assault, as well as one count related to driving under the influence.

According to police chief Tommy Cox, the injuries sustained by the five victims are not life-threatening. Following the incident, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a hold on Gomez, indicating further legal scrutiny may be forthcoming.
