NEW YORK — Almost twenty years ago, My Chemical Romance made waves in the music industry with their iconic rock opera, “The Black Parade.” This album marked a pivotal moment for the band, transitioning from their status as emo scene favorites to gaining widespread acclaim, solidifying their position as one of the most creative bands of the 21st century.
In an exciting development for fans, the band is set to embark on a special 10-date North American stadium tour in 2025, where they will play “The Black Parade” in its entirety. This announcement follows their recent headlining act at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
The tour will commence on July 11 in Seattle and will wrap up on September 13 in Tampa, Florida. Other tour stops include major cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Arlington, Texas, East Rutherford in New Jersey, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, and Boston.
Each concert will feature a unique opening act. Fans can look forward to performances from legendary artists such as Alice Cooper and Devo, as well as contemporary alternative rock bands like Evanescence and Thursday. Emerging talents like 100 Gecs and Wallows will also share the stage throughout the tour.
My Chemical Romance originated in 2001 and has released four studio albums over their career. Their breakthrough moment came with the 2004 release of “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.” After announcing their disbandment in 2013, they put out a greatest hits compilation titled “May Death Never Stop You” a year later. The group made headlines again in 2019 with the announcement of their reunion, which they later revealed had been planned privately since 2017.
The band initially scheduled a reunion tour for 2020, but it was delayed due to the pandemic and later postponed to 2022. During that year, they delighted fans by releasing their first new track since 2014, titled “The Foundations of Decay.”
Tickets for the highly anticipated tour will be available for purchase on Friday at 10 a.m. local time, giving fans a chance to secure their spots for this memorable celebration of music.
