INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Los Angeles Rams have made a significant roster move by activating offensive linemen Jonah Jackson and Steve Avila from injured reserve ahead of their match against the Miami Dolphins.

The Rams, currently boasting a record of 4 wins and 4 losses, announced this decision just before their Monday night game against the Dolphins, who sit at 2 wins and 6 losses.

Both Avila and Jackson had been sidelined due to injuries sustained earlier in the season. Avila dealt with a knee injury during the team’s season opener, while Jackson suffered a shoulder injury in Week 2. Having both returned to practice in the previous week, their activation marks a positive development for the offensive line.

At the start of the season, Avila held the position of starting left guard, showcasing consistency as a second-round draft pick in 2023 by playing every snap in his rookie campaign.

Jackson, who had signed a lucrative three-year, $51 million deal with the Rams during the offseason, previously played four seasons with the Detroit Lions. Prior to his injury, he was positioned as the starting center for Los Angeles.

Despite their return, Rams head coach Sean McVay remained tight-lipped about the specific positions Avila and Jackson would fill during the game. Avila commenced training camp as the team’s center, whereas Jackson was initially positioned as a guard, leading to some uncertainty as to their roles for this matchup.

The Rams will have to contend with the Dolphins without their starting right tackle Rob Havenstein, who is out due to an ankle injury he sustained last week against Seattle. In his absence, the Rams might call upon backup swing tackle Joe Noteboom, who has also just returned from injury, or Warren McClendon might step in to fill the void.

The return of these key players could significantly impact the Rams’ offensive line dynamics as they look to improve their standing during the season.
