LARAMIE, Wyo. — Obi Agbim delivered a standout performance, scoring 24 points and leading Wyoming to an 81-66 victory against Tennessee State on Sunday evening.
Agbim showcased his shooting skills, hitting 10 of 13 attempts from the field and going a perfect 4 for 4 from three-point territory, while helping the Cowboys improve their record to 2-0. Jordan Nesbitt contributed significantly as well, adding 15 points to the scoreboard, shooting 6 for 12 overall, and collecting seven rebounds. Kobe Newton chipped in with 11 points, going 4 for 7 from the field, including 3 for 4 from beyond the arc.
For the Tigers, who now hold a 1-2 record, Brandon Weston topped the scoring with 18 points. Aaron Nkrumah also had a noteworthy performance, scoring 13 points along with three steals, while Ahmir Langlais provided a double-double, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The game saw Wyoming take charge early, seizing the lead with 15:47 left in the first half and maintaining control throughout. They headed into halftime with a comfortable 43-28 lead, thanks in part to Agbim’s contribution of 12 points before the break. In the second half, Agbim continued to shine, leading the team once again with another 12 points, ensuring a solid victory for Wyoming.
