ATLANTA — In a dominant performance on Sunday, Josh Harris led the North Florida Ospreys with 22 points, guiding his team to a 105-93 victory over Georgia Tech. The Ospreys had six players secure double-digit scoring, with Jasai Miles contributing significantly with an impressive double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, despite fouling out towards the end of the match.
Harris showcased an impressive shooting display, making 8 of 10 attempts from the field and converting 5 of 6 from the free-throw line, while also contributing seven boards to his team’s effort. In addition to Harris and Miles, Nate Lliteras delivered a solid performance with 17 points, shooting 7-for-11, including a pair of 3-pointers. Additionally, Jaylen Smith played a crucial role, recording 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists. From the bench, Kamrin Oriol and Liam Murphy added 12 and 10 points, respectively, bolstering the Ospreys’ scoring depth.
On the opposing side, Baye Ndongo led the Yellow Jackets with a commendable 20 points along with 10 rebounds. Kowacie Reeves Jr. made his mark with 17 points, hitting four shots from beyond the arc, while Luke O’Brien was instrumental with 15 points and eight rebounds. Oklahoma transfer Javian McCollum contributed 14 points and six assists in the challenge, and Lance Terry scored 14 points off the bench, complementing the team’s effort with four 3-pointers of his own.
The game started with a couple of quick 3-pointers from McCollum and O’Brien, giving Georgia Tech an early advantage. However, the momentum shifted when Murphy’s 3-pointer put North Florida ahead 40-39 with just under five minutes left in the first half. Following that, Murphy led another scoring surge with a second 3-pointer, helping the Ospreys close the half with a 53-49 lead after an 11-5 run.
Georgia Tech regained a brief lead early in the second half with a layup from Naithan George, establishing a 56-55 score. Nonetheless, North Florida responded vigorously with an 11-0 run, highlighted by Miles’ four free throws and Smith’s successful 3-pointer, expanding their lead to ten points. The Ospreys continued to dominate, scoring 11 consecutive points shortly thereafter to push the boundary to 77-60, effectively sealing the victory as they maintained control of the game until the final buzzer.
North Florida surpassed the century mark with a 3-pointer from Smith with 2:35 remaining, underscoring their offensive prowess throughout the match.
